Island Studies and Tourism
Rooted in an SSHRC-funded knowledge synthesis grant, this work explores sustainable tourism and island community development. With a geographic focus on Nova Scotia, it also extends to Haida Gwaii, Fogo Island, and Mackinac Island in collaboration with the Scotland Rural College.
Climate Change Adaptation Strategies
This project, supported by SSHRC funding, focuses on climate adaptation research in Cape Breton. Its work explores energy transitions and local responses to climate change. Our work examines how communities build resilience in the face of environmental uncertainty.
